CEUS-1032-9: So You Want to Have a Tobacco-Free Workplace?
Course Abstract: |
Tobacco use in the workplace and even more specifically smoking in the workplace has become a controversial issue over the last few decades. More and more facilities are restricting… if not eliminating… the use of tobacco by staff, residents and visitors. Restaurants, commercial aircraft, and government facilities were some of the first entities to either restrict or eliminate smoking. Entertainment venues followed as well as acute care healthcare facilities. The reasons for these restrictions have varied based on organizational philosophies but have generally focused on health and/or safety concerns within the organization. Indeed, health facilities should be role models. |
